Wednesday October 11, the Norman League of Women Voters will host a Hot Topic Lunch featuring Rep. Claudia Griffith, HD 45, at the Interurban Restaurant on Ed Noble Parkway in Norman. Rep. Griffith will be speaking about "Health Care: the State's Responsibility.." Her presentation will mark the beginning of an ongoing community discussion lead by the Norman League on Health Care, its costs, and the role of government in insuring that all people, at all ages, have access to adequate services.

Rep. Griffith has served in the Oklahoma House representing District 45 in Norman since 2015. she serves on the Public Health Committee, as well as the Finance Committee, in the House. Claudia's experience as a nurse and the director of a healthcare nonprofit gives her a unique perspective on how to find new ways to provide access to affordable healthcare.

This year we are hosting a Healthcare/Basic Needs Education Round Table that we are calling:

Exploring the Healthcare Conundrum

DATE: Thursday November 2, 2017 TIME: 6:30-8:30pm PLACE: Lowry Room, Norman Central Library 225 North Webster Norman Oklahoma 73069

We have arranged for experts in these areas to host four Topic Tables. These include:

- Family and Children Services
- Aging and Disability Services
- Mental Health
- Access to care/Insurance

Round Table discussions will be followed by Topic summaries and a discussion led by Carly Putnam, Oklahoma Policy Institute Policy Analyst.

We would like to invite you to join us for the event.

Our planning for this event is the result of many conversations we have had with members and others in the community. It is our intent that this evening will be the beginning of several conversations about Healthcare, our community and state, and how we can work together to move the conversations forward into action. We are hoping that you will be interested in participating in the discussion.
